Promises, Promises, the musical adaptation of the film The Apartment, by Burt Bacharach, Hal David and Neil Simon was a hit when it opened on Broadway in 1968, running three years and playing over 1,200 performances at the Shubert Theatre. Over forty years later, the romantic comedy is back, this time taking the Broadway Theatre stage and shining its spotlight on two major stars: stage diva Kristin Chenoweth and former Will and Grace standout Sean Hayes. With a strong supporting cast (Katie Finneran, Brooks Ashmanskas, Dick Latessa, just to name a few...) and songs like "I'll Never Fall in Love Again," "Walk On By" and "A House Is Not a Home," Promises, Promises is poised to be an easy sell to fans of classic Broadway. But did it woo (and win) Word of Mouth reviewers Maggie, Matt and Phil? Watch the video to see if this new revival set our real-people critics' hearts aflutter.
